Finally get around to picking this up yesterday. Watched 7 episodes in the first sitting.

It's a great show and anyone that says otherwise probably just feels the need to be contrarian and hate on something that exploded in popularity quickly. Like any show, there are some flaws, but good points of this show are so strong and unique that I'd slot it right in as an instant classic. I'd say that it is this generation's 'Freaks and Geeks'. I may also compare it to Breakfast Club in the sense that it acts a glimpse into what a generation of high schoolers are dealing with.

If I was the Emperor of America, I would institute a program where any student entering high school would be forcibly quarantined with their parents for a weekend and forced to watch this show together and discuss it.

Just finished the show today. Didn't read the thread but I thought it was a really good series. Really depressing but couldn't stop watching. The acting was really good. There are some unanswered questions so I hope they address it next season.

Got back to this tonight. Pounded through the 2nd half of the season and finished it. I feel like Netflix is really pushing the boundaries of the TV-MA rating. I realize that they exist outside the structure of networks so they can choose how restrictive they want to be, but a show like this might start some parents thinking about letting their kids have unfettered access to Netflix.

Tyler stocking up those guns in his room was a thread they opened later on. It's almost as if they intend to have S2 focus on the school shooting epidemic.

Also, viewers will want to see the lawsuit result, aftermath of Alex's gunshot and how the counselor decides to react to the tapes.

I'm going to twist your words a little bit, but I wish it didn't take a Netflix show for parents to start parenting again.

I remember was I was young, if my parents didn't want me to watch a certain show.....I didn't watch it.

Now a days, it's easier to be able to restrict things, however with all the platforms of media, it's more difficult to restrict everything.

Social manners are disappearing and it's very unfortunate.
