So when your writing back to someone in a thread and he or she quotes you and you get distracted have to go or simple forget I think it would be cool to be able to @someone kinda like twitter.. I know this isn't twitter but it would be very beneficial imo

Typing @DaTz would make it slightly bolder and remove the @ with a click able link to my profile and also send a alert message to my pm box or some other pop up saying someone has wrote back

I myself am not seeing the direct need for this.
There is already an option to get a notification when someone quotes using the push notification system.

Just my opinion.

you can also have it send you push notifications for tracked topics as well IIRC.
