The aura stacking with replacing ur dream helm with mercs dream to get lvl 900 aura is already patched.
A merc needs life leech.
Infy doesnt give leech
Fort/treachert doesnt give leech
So u have to get it on helm.

Only downside is the -30 fire resist. But just socket it with a ral rune and ur fine anyway. (A 15 ias/30 fire rea jewel is even better, but also more expansive)
Some like vamp gaze too, and its a good second
