Well hello, in near future i'll go and grab my motorcycle driver's license (up to 50 horse power)

all the motorcycle's i've driven were mostly scooters & honda NSR 125 (thing's actually way faster than it looks)
now since my country is a bit fucked up and cops don't really look and pull over the big motorcycles so i'm thinking of buying an 2000-2003 r6 since theres alot of great deals
250-300 sportbikes are actually more expensive and i kinda wanna bypass that, would a preserved R6 be a good thing to start at?

thats fine but it is very old and therefore full of things that can be wrong.

since it's your first bike you won't have a clue what to look for or ask about which makes it an even bigger gamble.

clutch feel, ticks and noises, chain condition, sprocket condition, oil, coolant, brakes, rotors, frame damage, non street legal mods etc etc. list goes on and on cause street bikes are abused by almost every owner.

If your friend can't help you, how are we supposed too? Go sit on bikes and feel what's most comfortable for you.

If you're on the shorter side an r6 will be a nice bike.

Only ever owned one r6 but have had my fair share of bikes over the years. I'm simply too tall for the r6. In my opinion. a 600 is a 600 all day long. Year for year these things are not that much different throughout the brands. (inline 4's)

I've always had better luck on cbr's due to my height.

It will only go as fast as you make it. If you have any self control you will be fine.

idk why he's so worried about the bike engine. not like anyone will ever push a 600cc bike to its limits as a daily driver lols.

plus OP keep in mind when you do lay it over you will probably have hell trying to find replacement plastics for a 15 year old sport bike.
