YES, pierce support DOES give molten strike projectile the 17% more dmg part.

This does not shown on the ingame dps tooltip because that only shows the melee part of the skill, not the projectile dmg part where the main dps is coming from.

NOW is it worth it? that DEPENDS on the rest of your gear.

A BIS brutus Sprinkler is quite decked out in uniques, leaving only chest/ 2x rings/ belt as the only places to get resists from.

My char i was playing in HC has an astral with massive res, hp and str, that let me equip some GG opal rings , it was not worth sacrificing the astral and wearing inferior jewelries to get that pierce support from a 0 resist chest. Opal rings with gg dmg life str and resist are unobtainable in HC.

So check ur own gear and makes ur own choice.

Lioneye can be a good choice if u re running more rares becasue of budget reasons, but then again u need it 6L to be comparable...

Edit: Make sure u use a good tree as well, I have been running a brutus sprinkler build since day 1 of this league, and the trees posted by streamers like lifting and ziggy are all so terrible inefficient.

Should I sell it and buy another to use/craft

OR

Should I scour that and essence craft str on it over and over until I like the result. A 6L Astral below ilvl 84 is 2ex anyways and I got lucky and didn't pay much more than that for it. It is ilvl 100 and I'm gonna pay 3ex for a +ilvl84 anyways.
