if you wanna win as much games as possible, you dont sign undrafted rookies nor play 10 day contracts in not garbage time minutes. priority wasn't winning, it was getting younger and find pieces for the dirk post era. i say season didn't go on as planned, cuze internally the Mavs probably thought to get at a higher pick (top 5+) after the rough start. but some of the young players really surprised, and Dirk doesn't age enough to suck into top 5 pick terrority. the yogisanity stretch with wins over cavs/spurs didn't help stay in the high draft pick race

but if you think team is doing horrible, wait until Dirk retires ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^


the difference between the 9th and 10th pick this year could be significant tho, the mavs better try to lose most games down the stretch. just trust the process for a few games
