I had a set of Grandtrek AT's and they cost me $400 and didn't even last me 15k miles....I got $160 in credit for them towards the much better Michelin defenders I put on...My friends dad has the same pair and they looked brand new, asked him how long ago he put them on and he had to think about it and came back with 30k miles

I fully expect to get 50-60k miles out of these, and they are warrantied to 80k so there may even be some residual value on trade in

So to recap

$400, 15k miles
$800, 50-60k miles

Not to even mention shorter braking distances, better traction in the wet, it is a wider tire (265 vs 245), and better ride (because trust me, good tires effect how smooth your ride is by a lot

I just put a set of those Firestones on my wife's cruze when we put new wheels on it. Tremendous improvement in dry and wet grip and a slight increase in road noise over the khumo sense it had on it before. They are a new tire and easily the best value in their class. I think they were $110 each in 235/40/18.

Looking at either Falken Sincera SN828 or Yokohama 740GTX ATM.

Was told to avoid the Firestone by everyone at Discount Tire.

I doubt they are making any money off them then. It hasn't been out long enough to have a bad rep. Tire rack has a nice favorable review video comparing them to much more expensive tires.

I don't mind playing for quality. not sure I wanna deal with runflats though on my car lol, feel like thatd be a waste.

If yes, don't buy runflats

If no, consider it.
