You'd be surprised what stupid people are willing to do to get a boost. They'll trust anyone.

you lose LP but not MMR.

so instead of losing 20 + lp and dropping mmr, you just lose 10 lp and stay where you were in regards to your hidden MMR.

Which means that future games will give slightly more LP in order to catch you up with your MMR.

It's worth dodging if you've looked up your team mates, and there's a Darius with 140 games played with a 42% winrate (yes this happened to me in Plat)

probably not, just means you'll still win your usual amount (example 23) instead of your mmr dropping and you only win 21 etc.
