no idea what flash bios means.. . compatibility issues?

Old chipsets won't recognize the cpu if bios isn't updated. If it is, you won't have that issue

Just from what I've read and seen so far it seems that buying individual parts gets you much higher performance. However the tech support and warranty is worth something. Still debating this.

? Nothing to debate about.
You still get warranty and support from the manufacturer directly and Not only Ur getting higher perf for money you pay, you're also picking all the quality parts Urself. Unlike prebuilts that have 1 or 2 good parts and trash on all else.
If you want warranty/support bs from a retailer, thats also available as an option for parts you buy from them.
