So i am considering buying a refurbished tv. its a 65 inch samsung 8 series. refurbished would save around 300 to 350 bucks. wondering if it is worth it?

and i can't really even imagine what would cause a tv to need to be refurbished in the first place? something super simple to something somewhat complex?

any1 ever bought a refurb tv?

also considering telling a family member about this hisense 43 inch 4k tv for $179. but its a refurb

Most electronics I buy are either refurbs or open box, I've never had a problem with any refurb.

E: Could be PSU took a shit or one of the ports didn't function and it was replaced/fixed.

...or the dog or the kid knocked it over. Or some one spilled beer on it, or threw up on it. Might have been in a lightning storm or a flood, all kinds of fun things could have happened. :)

Refurb stuff comes with factory warranty and in most cases you can also buy extended warranty if you like, so nothing to worry about them imo.

I've bought a refurbished tv from Groupon and an open box tv from bestbuy. Never had a problem.

ok thanks. yea i was hoping and thinking that most refurbs should be due to minor issues, or else they would probably not bother to refurb the TV

yea ive seen most refurb tv come with only like 90 day warranty, which is better than no warranty, but still not great.
but ive also seen somewhere a warranty for like $25 for 3 years extension, but not too sure about how good the policy would be

hopefully they are just minor issues that were easily fixed.

what about a 2 year warranty with amex?

Funny you should say that. My next store neighbor has a huge Rottweiler. It leapt through the closed living room window, into the house, and took down the 65" TV he had.
Apparently, the dog thought that the guy's friend was attacking him, but they were just messing around.

Ya know the old saying: "Shit happens".
