Basically i need to find something that "mimics" a stoplight, or something....we were monitoring what will pigeons will choose, either position or color and they went for color. I need to find something what we use in human world. (we were sticking 2 sticks at the same time in cages , either on top or bottom and they had different colors)

the TA gave an example as a "STOPLIGHT" since it has both red, yellow and green but a colorblind person wont be able to see them, instead they have to rely if its on the top, bottom or middle.

basically it has to be something that has position and colors in it. ..and they have interchange if you get what i am saying

The only thing I can think of is how a lot of machines (generally heavier machinery, but also sometimes household appliances like coffee makers) have marking lights.

Some machines have "safe" and "caution" lights to let you know if it's safe to open/touch/approach the machine.
My espresso maker has four positional lights to mark its various states of operation.
