Let's say 'Team A' has a %chance to win the series, and 'Team B' has a %chance to win the series. If Team A wins the series, the games will be re-done. If team B wins the series, then no games are re-done and they just win.

My question is, how much of an advantage does Team B get from this? If you could give a formula where I can change around the %chance each team has, I would greatly appreciate it!

I dont expect this will be hard to answer, so FG tip to whoever answers first!

Team As chance of winning one series = X% = X/100

Team As chance of winning two series in a row = (X/100) * (X/100)

I suppose the advantage team B would have is: (X/100) - (X/100)^2.

one way to interpret the original statement is that the series will be re-done every time team A wins, ie team B always wins in the end

Unless one of those teams names is the Red Wings or the Patriots.

Then they just have 100% chance to win. It's known as the Chuck Norris effect, it is what happens to a sports team, that Chuck Norris favors.
