Look in the manual that came with your monitors. Monitors have an On Screen Display. One of the settings in there, is to tell the monitor that you are using an HDMI cable, for example.
If you use HDMI cable and don't have the monitors input set to HDMI...then it won't work.
I can't take an s/s of the OSD, and I was too lazy to break out the DSLR. :)
