There seems to be a disconnect in understanding.
These games are still tied to your account. Meaning at any time you can re-download them on a ps3 and play them. But since the PS4 is not backwards compatible you cannot download them on PS4. Those PSX games, bought digitally, and PS2 Classics you played were made for PS3. They were not emulated. So for the same reason you can't play them on PS4. They are not lost though.

some ps3 games were remastered specifically for the ps4 or made for both ps3 and ps4 which is why they are on ps store
the ps4 and ps3 have completely different hardware they dont play games the same way

PS4 does not have backwards compatibility like the Xbox does
