nope it's random, I've had 4 happen fairly quickly in a row

also to kill guardians make ancient arrows and pop em in the eye once, insta kills
if you can't make ancient arrows, pop em in the eye and wail on them until they need another pop in the eye

I know but making more ancient arrows is a lamesauce way to go cuz you get less mats out of it afterwords lol. Id rather perfect shield them to death. I have an ancient shield i made so ima try it lol

nn to parry if a regular arrow to the eye stuns them enough to get a bunch of hits in

other than that progressing the game can also cause some enemies to carry better stuff, although Hinox is where it's most notable as I always get a few Royal tier items from them

You can cut the sides with a knife the box opener ones.

Just make sure you cut the bottom/side plastic

And leave the top alone

Its easier and much cooler to just perfect shield them
