I've looked through the sticky guides for trapsin but not sure if that info is correct. I'm looking for the basic gg setup for a trapsin on HC.

I'm a bit confused on a few slots in particular like I know the most popuar option is +2/3/2 os claw & +6 LS / 2 os claw but does the claw type matter?

Best armor choice enigma? What's the fcr bp? Should I aim for a certain FHR break point? Arach or tgods? iso advice on this class :o

The speed in which you lay traps is based on the claw type. Greater talons are the best.

2/3/2 greater talon with 15ias/15 res jewels in the left hand slot (double check that)

Other can have 7fhr/15 res jewels

Enigma

You can go for the 75(I think) breakpoint or 102 (you will have to use griffs and a 2sin 17+fcr ammy and 2 10fcr rings though)

Fhr is 86fhr

102fcr / 48fhr build:-

Griffs (light % does not affect trap damage but you need the 25fcr to hit 102)
2sin 17+ fcr ammy with mods
Enigma
Trangs
Arach
Treks
2x 10fcr Str life mana rings
2/3/2 GT with 15/15 jewels - if it has base IAS even better.
2/3/2 GT with 7fhr/15 is jewels

Trap lifers, torch etc. you may need some 5fhr/res scs, if you want 86fhr you can shael the griffs and use some trap fhr gcs

Ty for your reply, very helpful.

I'm also wondering about if I need to wear a raven frost to protect against being frozen but does this even matter? Does being frozen effect me in any negative way other than run speed? On my light sorc, this isn't an issue so I'm wondering if trapsin is the same way?

Sorry just saw. Since trap laying speed is based from ias being frozen will effect that.
