Really you shouldn't have many issues, but some of the best skills are the one that knocks down machines more often with heavy spear attacks and double/triple shot, so build towards those first

use everything they teach you in your training. traps, ropes, stealth, override, etc. I watched alot of streamers who was doing the same mistakes. rushing in with their bow hoping to destroy everything then rage that some machines are too hard, especially early on. the hunting grounds activities is a really good way to learn all the strategy when in a fight against multiple machines.

Keep in mind that crafting ammunition and potions require alot of meterials/metal shards.

i agree ive seen some streams of people trying and failing so bad because they only use bow

i try to use everything i got ropecaster the traps the trap caster rope thing they all are very useful when used to your advantage

even the traps themselves ive set up a few near me draw a big machine charging at you gtfo and boom big damage

Atm i often use r2 and then r1 to kill Smalltalk Machines

Also im saving skill Points , cuz i rly dont Like the skills in the scd row

honestly saving skills is not smart just put them in stealth bonus skills at least

and then the shit where you can put extra arrows and shoot up to 3...thats pretty handy makes your bow much more viable

Yeah saving skill points early on probably isn't the smartest idea but do whatever works for you.
