While I know you're replying to OP, I'll give my thoughts. I played the night it came out and haven't since.

1. I don't care for futuristic games, I never have. Small detail, obviously.

2. I'm an old school call of duty fan. I have never liked the new movement system. While I understand it adds a huge skill gap, which is good for competitive play, I simply do not enjoy it. I don't want to run on walls or be able to slide 10 feet. I gave AW a chance, but I couldn't get into it. I will say, I do appreciate the fast paced games with the new movement system, cuts down on camping a lot. I pretty much skipped BO3 and when I game now I pretty much just play MWR or Skyrim. I don't really play much anymore as I don't have time. Since my biggest time playing was spent on WaW, CoD 4. and MW2, I just can't get into the new stuff. Could I adapt? Sure. Do I want to? Not really. I have MWR to keep me occupied for awhile.

3. Small detail, but I find the game corny as hell, as far as characters, maps, and weapons go..

4. Literally none of my friends play IW, they all play MWR, so just one more reason for me to not touch IW. Obviously that is only a personal thing.

It's not that the game is really that bad, it is just not what I'm looking for in a shooter. I see how people like it, but I guess I'm just oldschool. I'll give it another shot eventually, but for now I'm good.

AW was terrible for multiple reasons, but the boosting was completely imbalanced. BO3 had a much more balanced boost by nerfing its capabilities, plus it's the first treyarch CoD game to ever have good hit detection. IW nerfed boosting even more.

You didn't give any reason besides boosting. I'm not sure what makes a weapon corny. Not having friends to play with is a legit answer, but it's technically not a fault of the game.

If you played the game more, then you'd realize it's the most CoD-like game in a while, even with the boosting. More often than not you're dying to a gun. You're not constantly dying to equipment, streaks, or lethal specialists. You're just getting shot. Sure, there literally are gimmicky things in IW, but they're generally not OP. Even the weapon variants aren't game-breaking due to their accessibility and limited imbalance.

Personally, my only real issue with the game is some of the map designs. It's a shame I don't have people with play with either. Most of my friends prefer killing with or dying from m16s and frags over and over and over again. They enjoy waiting and waiting and waiting for the enemy to make a mistake by simply being the first person to stop camping.

Idk man, just don't care for it. Like I said, there's no reasons I can come up with that make it an objectively bad game, just not my jam. I've always liked modern warfare era games. Plus, there's the whole nostalgia thing with MWR. It definitely has a shit ton of flaws, but I love the hell out of it. Especially for people that never played it back in 07, there's not a ton of draw to it. I'll give IW another chance and see if I can get into it, but it probably won't happen, especially now. I'll probably get straight shit on too lol. I'm not used to the movement system and idk the maps.

it doesn't add a huge skillgap and is NOT good for competitive play, what kind of moronic ideals have been bestowed on you, not one single pro player actually likes or wants to play any jetpack cod. they simply are forced too and don't have a choice.

fuck are you talking about being forced to play in any series? Optic LITERTLY threw it on twitter "We are not going because it doesn't pay to go"

Stop speaking for any of these pro players. They go if they want to, none of them are even forced to go.

optic is a rare exception because of their contracts, most people are contractually obligated by their sponsors to attend, if they don't they will lose their sponsors, don't be a fucking dumbass.

wall running is 50x worse than boosting ever was, and most comp players actually think AW was the least terrible jetpack cod, black ops 3 and IW are definitely worse. you can have whatever opinion you like, i'm just stating the common popular opinion of most of the scene

to be clear theres two different competitive scenes in cod, theres SnD Scene, i.e OLT players, gamebattles, UMG, ect, and then theres the "variant" community as we call it. respawn players, the pro's or people who want to be.

two different scenes that while are intertwined are a little different, MWR blows for respawn in my opinion, but is one of the Best SnD games ever made. and a players opinion will change on a cod based on what it is they are a player of.

you might like competitive search and destroy, 2v2 / 3v3 / 4v4 search, no dumb shit, goes to 6 rounds instead of 4, same round timer, bomb plant is silent unlike pubs, ect. lots of things that make it very fun.
playing doubles is a unique experience too because for some ungodly reason they won't put a 2v2 playlist into call of duty games, so to play 2v2 of ANY gamemode, you gotta head to GB or UMG, theres something to be said for having a record over a season and playing with the same partner and building chemistry though, i find it way more fun than just playing random pub matches, even losing can be more fun, because you're improving and learning more about the game and what's possible. if you play gb for 3 months, and go back to playing pubs, you will notice a gigantic spike in your performance, you will be FAR better than you were before.

Yeah I've wanted to get into some snd like that, but I don't really have anybody to play with. When I do play with friends, they usually just want to fuck around in TDM lol. Hard finding people to play with now.

ask a friend to try it with you, or ask for somebody to try it with on somewhere, like here. and just give it a go

If you can play the game long enough to unlock ghosts at level 18, then you'll have a much better time. You'll have an even better time if you play long enough to unlock dead silence at level 50. Unless you get lucky you would have to play a lot to unlock variant challenges. During the month of december they gave out 12 free bonuses, such as supply drops, salvage, and weapon unlocks. If you're ever to unlock the KBAR invective or R3K R3KT, then you'll have a good time. Also, the best specialist for search is FTL with phase shift, which I think is level 40. None of the other perks or equipment matter..you just need DS, ghost, and maybe dex, then the rest is your primary weapon and attachments.
