competitively black ops 1 was amazing, ive never had hit detection issues i vaporized everything
The hit detection is in relation to the choppiness of the animation. My comment isn't subjective. Fewer frames, means the hitbox doesn't align with the sprite sometimes. It's why people appear to shoot 90 degrees from where they're character is looking. It's why snaking is so strong. Your "vaporizing" is related to your map awareness and reaction time. Strafing in close quarters is going to show the flaws of the game much more someone running straight towards you.

Ignorance is bliss. If you've never experienced good hit detection, then you don't know what you're missing. If the clunkiness of BO1, BO2, and to a less extent, MW3, is all you know, then that's your version of "normal." That's just how the game feels to you.
From my experience, IW has better lag compensation configuration. A 2bar and 4bar connection play virtually the same in MW2. The only thing I change with a 2bar is I'll use the ACR instead of the famas. Treyarch games appear to throttle people with good internet too much, and it appears people see me sooner than I see them. Lag comp is good in theory, but it shouldn't punish someone more than they deserve for having better internet.

black ops 1/2 mw2 and mw3 had the best hit detection personally. ghosts was probably the worst 360 cod ever produced and xbox 1 version saved it from being dogshit, the ps4 version is ass though.
cod4/waw have bad hit detection, always have. that's actually their saving grace in a weird way, because without that, you would get obliterated instantly by shit in those games, which is why TTK in MWR feels way different, because the hit detection is actually good now. so now people vaporize you. it's almost TOO good, in the sense that it's even harder to breach setups now, you can get 1 bursted through every crack. tbh mw2 bops 1 and bops2 were probably the pinnacles of competitive search and destroy AND respawn. all there is too it.
As a super fan of MW2, even I consider Ghosts to have the best hit detection in the franchise on 360; however, it appears to have some flaws on xbox one for some reason. It's odd we're flip-flopped. If I had to guess, I probably died to lag less than 10 times on 360 Ghosts.
BO2 competitive is definitely the most entertainment I've ever experienced. The introduction of hardpoint was amazing to watch pros play.
