It depends, if you want simple play style and simple autopilot grind, you'll like diablo 3 better.
If you want a more complex approach to building character and playing them, with more control and choices for endgame, you'll love path of Exile so much you'll never go back to diablo.
Just a warning though, the learning curve is steep

Both accurately sum it up really. POE is a vastly more detailed and entertaining game then D3.
