sometimes i drop to even less then 10 fps what sucks (playing hc)

what can i do to improve the performance of d2?

my laptop isnt the best (pentium 2020m 2.4ghz, intel graphics, 4gb ram, win 10)
had same problems on an i3 1.7ghz, nvidia 820m, 4gb ram win 10 laptop.
(both asus)

im running wow, csgo, league of legends without any problems, but d2 is droping pretty often.
im also getting some wierd visualc++ error messages where i cant close the window (staying ingame) but also cant move and screen freezes.

can someone help?

that sounds like a ram issue for windows 10 and playing a game on it. 4gb ram is very small for win 10.

Edit: I don't know how your other games are running fine on that setup.

This is bullshit. 4gb is far more than enough for win10 + D2. You clearly have no clue. The right answer is glide wrapper

Well you can run it in windows mode and have the resource monitor running to see what is actually spiking. But its like this with d2 when you are running it on a new os and a new gfx card is that I had absolutely shit fps and heaps of lag when I installed it on windows 8.1 with 8gb of ram and a 2gb gfx. After research I found there is a mod for d2 that tricks it into thinking you are running a old school graphics card that d2 was designed to run on. And thats what you can do to fix it. Other then that its basically just a problem with the d2 servers they are still pretty shite for most of the world.

I.e. if it runs crap in single player you need to get the gfx card fix which you can find on the internet its called voodoo fix d2 or something like that. And if it only runs crap in multiplayer its the servers issues which you can't fix.
