what is maximum in % what we can reduce the coldresistance of monsters in hell?

make it sense if we stat a coldsorc more than 16 points ( 100% reducing cold resistance)?
If possible add webiste links wich have a well explanation.

There's no other maximum but the one determined by the pts in ur cm skill. Every skillpt in cm lowers enemy's cr by additional 5%, but monsters' cr can't be lower than -100% and cm can't break immunities so anything above it is a waste.

Actually: 17 skillpts in cm lower monsters' cr by 100%. That's why some guides suggest putting 17 spts and no more into cm (with ur +skill items).

But many monsters in d2 have higher cr than 0% - up to Duriel's 95% in hell. So yes, higher cm can make a pretty difference here. That's why pure cold sorcs running duri/meph (has 75% cr in hell)/cs (venom lords have 50% cr in hell for example) usually max cm. On the other hand - going dual tree u may not simply afford putting too many pts into cold tree. It really depends on ur build and which areas/monsters u're running.

(As an exclusive hc player i don't know much about pvp so maybe someone else explains the effect of cm in pvp to u.)
