Been watching some ut builds, but looks like they are never safe enough for hc ?
I evven saw a vid on youtube with some smiter with high end gear who finally died once versus meph.
For budget one I followed this : http://forums.d2jsp.org/topic.php?t=56376366&f=87 it worked few times (I allways ask a bo barb for a bo), but last time I went straight to meph like usual, precast lifetap with a nec wand, hit him maybe 1 or 2 times and DEAD ^^
So what's your experience with budget smiter on hc, and no budget ?
I don't mind taking the time to grind better gear for him if I know he won't die unlike the budget one.

That build seems fine. You shouldn't die with it unless you do something silly

Get cheap single light res charms, stack till it covers conviction -res and with Tg + Lt active u cant die. Its Meph's Charged bolt that sometimes insta ko's u with lower light res.

I have always just put on salvation to kill meph just to be safe. You will hit him a little slower but you shouldnt drop under max res even with his conviction, assuming you had max resists going in.

just max res + use lifetap

bad experience is low budget smiter with conviction aura (to negate mephs aura), it works most of the time... but not all the time...

best low budget smiter you can get is like this: zaka, havens light, gulli face, guardian angel (or smoke), dungo, raven ring, draculs, goblins, random torch (no need for pala, or for torch at all...), amu for rezists or hl, w/e you are missing on second ring
basicly you need to get good crushing blow (its doable with low CB too but it takes too mutch time, quicker = safer), so havens + golbin + gulli = 33 + 35 + 25 = 93% CB
guardian angel for 90@, you need to get some rezist small charms
verdungo belt, dont bother with tg, it just triggers foh and triggers cooldown on your skills

killing meph option 1: use salvation (you need to shael up your weapon to compensate fana ias)
option 2: prebuff with fade from Treachery (there is a fire right infront of town gate)
option 3: stack up rezists another way (kira, charms etc...)

use life tap charge wand (randomly spawns at towns traders), dont rely on dracul proc
get a boo barb, CTA is low and when it times out in the boss fight your auras will fade for a moment

from the nature of crushing blow, it will take more time to end bosses last 5% than lower him to it
when you are upgrading you can start with weapon, grief is fine choice (higher damage, faster end, higher life tap drain)

thx for all your reply next time I shall try with salvation, I think the last time I died he was wearing pretty much everything you tell, like ga gulli hl raven tg gore but shield was white 4 soc arround 3x @ and 4 pdia would zaka really be big benefit ?
I'm asking because zaka at ladder start is expensive ^^ and I would like to know the really cheapest but still safe way to do it.
I did the lt trick (I didn't even have draculs actually) and had bo barb ofc
