I've been thinking about something lately and I have not seen it in the rules or did not pay attention that well (being honest). I wanted to start up some sort of prepaying service for select games. For example if somebody wants 20 crates in rocket league and I do not have as many as he wants, he can go ahead and pay for the 20 crates at either a discounted price or with a bonus skin or wheels or something like that. The purpose of this is to lock in customers for you and to build your Gold at a pretty standard rate. There will be a few issues with this but it is in early development in thought so let me know what yall think.

I am also thinking of a penalty for people who do prepay and then back out. Of course you will have to give their gold back but there will be a 10% fee for wasted time on the merchants behalf. Unless the merchant is the one slacking then a 10% fee will be taking up the time of the buyer.

Bad idea. You'd be selling items that don't exist. One way ticket to the scammer accusation thread imo.

very true but what if both parties agree very formally and publicly about the terms and conditions of said request.

I'm looking for constructive criticism on this and I will defend this only because it is my idea let's have a good debate and make this at least an ironclad idea even if it is just a hypothetical scenario.

I feel like the mods may shut it down even if you had a solid agreement in place since you're still trading pixie dust. However, IF you were to somehow get approval for something like this you'd have to have very clear terms set in stone. So let's pretend and say I wanted 20 crates and I paid you 400fg for it today. I myself would want those 20 crates within 48-72 hours. I would likely use a mediator to hold the fg for me since you can't guarantee that you can get me my crates within that time frame. Basically, it would have to be iron clad.

Edit: I still think it's a bad idea. I've been on jsp for 10 years and would have thought this was a bad idea every year I've been here.

It is against the rules as you dont have the items for trade at the moment.

Most traders abide by the 2/3 rule and will never send first.

Join date, post count, and fg. Sometimes warn % is used instead of one of those three. Whoever is lower goes first.

Can be a stupid rule as many old users with lots of posts have scammed, but mostly the new multis are the ones scamming fg.

When in doubt, use a mediator.

How can you tell if someone is a multi?
