For gloves, it depends heavily on your budget. Many ppl seem choose to go with high Def eth/rep 20 ias +stat gloves for obvious reasons. You can then also keep a pair of crafted ias gloves with crushing blow handy, for match ups in which the defense would not be quite as beneficial as the extra dmg output.
While these are both solid choices, on a budget, Steelrends look quite appealing to me. 60% ed + solid defense + 10% CB (very nice vs high life oppenents) with the additional +20 str - (1% ed per). Of course, you want to pay close attention to conc ias breakpoints, so with Rends over rare/crafts you will need to gain ias elsewhere..
