i have seen lvl 50s drop when killing lvl 54 monsters - on 4 corners quest and 4 people ingame. no trapdoor
well, some quests behave a little different then the rest

Welling has completely changed since the old days. Now, all side drops are the same level (or lower) than the item welled.
this is wrong, sidedrop can be 1 tier higher ( in full groups )
