im seriously so bad at bf1 and still have a blast. its hard but the right (grindy) kind of hard. imho lack of guns and limited maps allow you to get good at specific playing types, without polluting the game with pointless skills weapons and poor tactics.
its set in ww1 so dying is kind of the point
maybe try a different game that is more to your style ? i have lots of fun on titan fall 2 as long as i stay away from online hahaha but the campaign is beautiful.

all of the original cod is based on ww2, all the stuff iv heard on the new game will be set in Vietnam
