I don't do much daytrading, just every once in a while (when there's a small dip) put in some more money. That's it. So the fees aren't killing my gains, I'm in there for the long run, not for a few days or weeks.

That's a better way to be. You can lose your ass quick on day trading.

Anyone recommend certain books for investing? I've read One Up On Wallstreet, and I have The Intelligent Investor and Common Stocks and Uncommon Profits but haven't read them much.

Investing or trading is not inherently related to politics or religion. A thread like this belongs in General Chat, as unpleasant as that may sound to some of you. PaRD isn't a club or community where you get to have any topic you want. This is not just my opinion, but it reflects the rules and/or sticky topics for PaRD and GC:

Horseshit. PaRD is a community where occasionally the regulars will post a topic that isn't specifically political or religious. Personal economics is economics and economics are political.

GC is the gutter of d2jsp. It's a place where braindead stoners with 50% warn levels spam. If d2jsp isn't going to make a finance/career/investing section that prohibits those with 20% warn level or more, the best place for an investing thread is right here among the smart people of jsp.
