I came here about a year and a half ago, and received some awesome advice some Subwoofer for my 1998 Civic.

I've got a budget of about $450-$500. Looking for the best possible sound I can get with this budget, not necessarily needing a sub.

Any good suggestions? I need everything I can get! Currently using all stock equipment.

bit busy atm but i'll get to you tomorrow.

how much issue is road noise for your currently? if its pretty noisy in the cab when you drive i'd suggest buying sound deadening material before worrying about a subwoofer.

your current budget does allow for a good entry level setup subwoofer included.

just lmk which way you wanna go or i can link both for future reference.

essentially its just a rubber coating that comes in sheets. one side has adhesive and you just stick it to the metal.

iirc about jeeps of that model you will do most of the work necessary to get to the bare metal just buy removing the door moulding which you'll be doing anyways to run subwoofer wires for the future.

even if you decide sound deadening material now you can still buy the necessary hookups for a subwoofer and just pull the fuse out until you buy the subwoofer setup.

but as you said road noise is high so it helps your audio and will keep that road noise down as well.

That makes good sense. I suppose I could think of some good spots for it. There's plenty of room as well compared to my old Civic.

http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_40531_NVX-SDBP40-40-ft-Bulk-Pack-Entire-Car-90mil-2.3mm-THICK.html

is a good deal on it. only tool you need is a roller.http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_45911_NVX-SDRLR1-Sound-Dampening-Rubber-Roller.html

you can easily find tons of videos for tips on the install and even possibly one specifically for your jeep that addresses the problem areas.

now onto the rest of the setup.

you wanting to amp the door speakers? this will involve rewiring all of them but it's not a big deal in something like a jeep cherokee since you can easily reach behind the dash and stuff like that.

im trying to think back to jeep installs as to where i use to put the amps at for the door speakers but its been a while. might look around for a mount spot in yours so you have a plan ahead of time.

need anything in particular out of the head unit? hd radio/sat radio or anything like that? or just usb/aux/bluetooth is fine?

Just really need USB. I know it's standard with the other stuff really. Looking to amp the speakers because on my Civic everything sounded really shallow/weak.

I can find a random spot for mounting, I'm not much of a professional haha. I definitely want it to sound decent though, even without a sub.
