I have a cat, dog (beagle), fish, and two parakeets.

I would NEVER A) get a dog from a puppy mill or B) waste money on a dog that more than likely has more problems than you can name and will cost another few grand more at the vet. You can adopt a perfectly good dog for free (like 60bucks for documentation).
