Despite this being a joke, this is actually relevant now more than other. Muslims at OSU are going to have to deal with some serious issues in the coming weks.

Do you have an answer to your own question by chance?

I find myself at odds with my own opinion on this matter. While I support the freedom of everyone to practice whatever religion they want, and I think everyone should feel safe practicing said religion, it is an undeniable fact that in the last few years the highest number of major threats have been from a radical Muslim.

I'm somewhere between thinking that Islam is fundamentally a dangerous religion, and recognizing that most of its followers do not support the violence their religion advocates. So I'm torn.

I think the reaction is justified in the sense that it's mostly an irrational fear and not something that can be controlled. It's fine as long as there is no violence or force acted on anyone.

Islam is definitely a fundamentally dangerous ideology and people have good reason to be apprehensive of it and those who take it seriously.

Agreed, but at the same time there is a lot of value in the religion, and there are common interpretations of it that avoid violent jihad and other dangers. I think working towards moving away from religion altogether is the only real long-term solution, other than that I don't see any real solution. Becoming more militant towards Islam will likely only worsen the problem. Being tolerant of peaceful Muslims seems, I think, to be the best stopgap solution until religion stops existing altogether.
