Little bit of background - every time I go out to the club (loud music/dancing/etc) I end up dancing with some girl or getting grinded on and ultimately end up making out with her on the dance floor within 5 minutes. Very quick escalation tactics.

The issue is that I can never take it further than this. The girl either ends up walking away after a while or getting pulled away by her friends. I have even tried getting the girl's number to meet up with her later but that never works because she never wants to meet up with someone she doesn't know.

I am missing something but I'm not sure what. A friend of mine said it's all about finding the right girl but I feel like I could be doing more.

You're not looking for a girlfriend in the right place.

basically

in every set ( a scenario where you want to get to know a girl(s)) there is so much more then the girl in question.

first: if you are in a club you are also in a highly social situation.

lets say you make out very quickly with a girl, then the girl in question cannot create comfort or any connection to you.
Also if you make out with her that early on you are ignoring her social obligations (friends shes in the pub with for example)

People from the pick up community agree in general that it takes on average 8 hours to get a women into bed.
You try to do it in 5 minutes and then get her home in another 20.

Im not great at attracting or seducting. Theres people way better at that. And obviously with early on attraction or seduction you dont have a problem.
Give the girl time to built a connection with you (and not by making out) (and ib4 flame - im getting there on how to)
At the same time dont ignore her friends.
If you ignore the social situation you will have her friends cockblocking you in an instant. You would do the same if she was with your group.
Lets say Maria is out to the club with you and some friends and within 5 minutes on the dancefloor she is (drunk) making out with a complete stranger.
Well you would get her the fuck outta there if you didnt know the guy was cool.

Dont ignore the set. You rarely have 1-sets. Usually its a 2 or more set. And each of those sets require a different approach if you want to minimize the chances of getting cockblocked.

Now as to how you build connections:
Talk to her about deep things - not what she does or what her name is - thats superficial.
Talk about what she wants - where she always wanted to go and whats so interesting about that. Be interested in her. Neg her a little (let her proove her character to you).
Most importantly: Bridge: Change the spots. Go outside with her - go to the lounge and back on the dancefloor.
Be sorry you gotta go to your friend for a sec (and really do) and tell her she can come get you in 20 minutes.
You can let her introduce you to her friends. If you are really clever you seduce her friend FIRST and then you change target.

Seduction in a club has much to do with social game.
Im not the club person so i only know the theory. But that is how id do it.
