depends on where you're from i guess. pretty sure they cover it in norway, wouldn't be surprised if they covered it in russia. here in germany there's only the internet to follow this.

matches are streamed directly here, access is $15 for the wcc:

https://worldchess.com/nyc2016/#about

if you don't want to pay for it you can follow the matches, commentated by GM peter svidler(!) here (without live footage from the venue though):

I love the game but I haven't followed it in years.

I had the sweet glory of beating/crushing a provincial champ when I was in h.s.. I still dabble from time-to-time. My dad taught me the game, his brother competed.

My favourite version is blitz/lightning. Avg/ time per move: under 2s unless the game becomes grossly unfamiliar.

My weakness was originally pawn positioning and later operation of the knight. My current weakness is definitely with knights. "Horseshit", ofc.

I watch it. Constantly watching chess videos. Play a bit but I'm not very good.

I understand the players are not going to do something questionable for the sake of entertainment but 30 hours of chess over 6 games with no decisive results is brutal.

Karjakin has been criticized by other GMS and people in the chess world for playing like a fetus though, so I don't think he is completely removed from criticism. Seems he has had some chances to gear his play more toward a win rather than equality and he has chosen the latter in those cases.
