Spain’s Left-wing government is facing a backlash for using funds reserved to tackle gender violence to pay for a feminist twerking festival in Tenerife.

The ‘Festival of Feminist Twerking’, billed as an effort to “reassign twerking from a feminist perspective”, was granted €105,000 by Spain’s equalities ministry.

The event, which took place in October 2022, angered traditional Spanish feminists, who have been at war with the ministry over its position on trans rights.

In one of those banana republic moments that we're echoing with the Trump/Biden saga, the former president and VP were both convicted of bribery/corruption by their rival and successor regime, barred from office, etc. Former president Correa left the country but the VP Jorge Glas was arrested and imprisoned and bounced around hearings for years, and a few months ago when he got a chance he fled a hearing and escaped to the Mexican embassy and received asylum and had been holed up, ironically like Assange did at the Ecuadorian embassy years ago. And today the Ecuadorian forces stormed the Mexican embassy and seized Glas, a de facto act of war, with Mexico cutting off relations in response.

the real horror is the "we'll wait for it to crash" crowd. yeah, just you and millions of others who will flood the market to buy once it "crashes". prices are imo going to drop by a far lower percent than previous crashes, surely less than 2008. and without massive unemployment along with it the effect wont be nearly the same.

The credit card debt is the big issue this round.
