They viewed the power shift and diversity as a symbolic but meaningful rebuke of the Islamophobic rhetoric that was a central theme of then Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump’s campaign.

This week many of those same residents watched in dismay as a now fully Muslim and socially conservative city council passed legislation banning Pride flags from being flown on city property that had – like many others being flown around the country – been intended to celebrate the LGBTQ+ community.

Judge Cahill of the George Floyd trial strikes again
Serial offender is brought in and convicted of violent felony domestic assault. Walks with a suspended sentence from the judge. Twice in a row, in the span of a couple months, he commits violent domestic assault and violates a restraining order and gets a free pass. Never goes to prison. Predictably, last week he murdered his ex. Stabbed her to death while a police officer tried to stop him. And since its post George Floyd, even as she was actively being stabbed, the officer first shouted to tell him to drop the knife multiple times and tried to taser him to no effect as he kept stabbing her, before finally shooting the guy dead.

Modi gave his speech and inaugurated the Rama Lama Ding Dong temple at the flashpoint of hindu-muslim rioting the BJP provoked in 1992.
The last time Modi provoked a riot as governor in 2002, it got 1000 people killed and Modi banned from having a US visa by the Bush regime, only to be later lifted under Obama when he was elected PM
So far, there's been nothing but minor scuffles and incidents. I guess part of the issue is that now that the mosque is long since destroyed, and Muslims never had any sacred ground claim to begin with, they really don't seem to care as much
A big difference from the Temple Mount situation at least.
