Author had a dream which made him realise something stunning and so he felt he understood everything and no longer needed to go to all those places he hadn't been to before.

What kind of a realisation is that? Any of you had it?

Ty. Makes sense. Drugs make you feel good so you don't need to do anything big to achieve satisfaction and satisfaction was the only thing you really wanted.

May be that's what he realised, that he didn't want to go on a spiritual journey and learn (what he nobly thought), but only wanted simple emotional satisfaction all this time.

or maybe he just had a dream, like one of those crazy dreams.
