I don't disagree with you, but if D3 had trading right now it'd Trump any action RPG. The combat and fluidity of D3 is something that reigns over any action rpg. Just depth, trading, economy, are lacking.
They'll never do it to the currency version. Only hope is for D4
in my opinion, developers took the lazy route and simply removed trading to make things "fair", or they concluded fixing the issues would cost more than the d3 name was worth to them. idk.
when you've got an endgame which is a ranked & timed event like greater rifts, you dont want the players who "buy" the most expensive items
to be at the top of the leader board simply because of their purchases. i like how skill is a very crucial factor as to how high up the leaderboard you can go.
this is something the d2 ladder does very poorly since it is only based on experience gain.
trading gives a purpose to botting. a "real money" auction house gave purpose to botting and so on. sorry, but d2 was ruined by this. ladder is trashed within days of a reset.
this promotes hoarding since there is resale value. why should i be held back from making games because the dclone hunters are taxing the servers? just as an example.
and the queue's wouldnt exist if hunters had no purpose to acquire hundreds of annis to sell them off.
i dont know what the answer is, but i too agree that i miss trades. maybe you need different realms for ranked play without trades, and a realm open for trading.
