Running past some lady walking her dog and it lunges at me and snags onto my leg. Might need stitches, not sure.

Called cops who called animal control, lady was gone by the time they got there. Was able to get her phone number but wasn't smart enough to get a name. I just wanted to get away from that fucking dog asap.

Gonna find her and sue her if I have to pay for preventative rabies shots.

So PSA: if you are running and come across a stranger walking a dog, approach with cautio.

I carry a knife when I run. A dog can live for hours with only one lung.

Hope this helps.

They found her. The dog should be up to date on vaccinations. I have the option of pressing charges. I think Im going to.

If you have medical bills, do it. If not, don't. It's a dog being a dog. It was protecting it's owner.

Next time, fight back. You'll be surprised how passive dogs get if you chase after them in an aggressive manner.

Of course, like I said....I run with a knife. heehee

If the dog was young and you are not actually hurt, i.e. needing stitches or shots, don't press charges.

It will invariably lead to the dog being put down, which it only should if it hurt your body, not your feelings.

is the owner sincerely contrite about the problem and willing to address this so it doesnt happen to someone else? , if you do need minor medical attention, does she intend to make right and cover this? , if the answer is yes, imo there is no reason to involve the legal system.

Are you going to have costs? is the owner a douche and the dog a red zone for everyone who goes near it? Yeah if people arent willing to be responsible, then involve the courts.
