squat day today..

305x8

Did some paused sets @225 for 3x5.. 5 second pause at the bottom than rolled dafuq out..

Not sure where my motivation has gone, but I just want to be done with the gym when I'm there.

Inspiration beats motivation: it needs to be part of a bigger "why" :)

Sometimes we self-sabotage when our energy is depleted. If the body and brain are tired, motivation goes down the drain. Have you considered taking 1-2 weeks off? I do that sometimes and I find it helps.

Maybe try something new--a new routine--and see if that helps.

Fosho.. Not going to derelict from my plan, but it's all about the end game..

Trying to advert my focus for a bit on school rather than the gym. I usually hit class at 2p, and I've been hanging around the gym till 12/1.. Doesnt give me much study time, time to crack the books.

Awesomeness DL day..

Worked up to 95% of my TM.. Hit 365x5 in sumo than hit a few heavy singles of 385 and finally hit a PR for sumo with 405!

I've pulled 445 conventional, and haven't really focused on sumo.. But dat pull was god damn amazing.

Updating next with a squat vid of 290for an easy triple

worked on shit I suck at today, did some front squats and OHP..

Was able to do 5x2 @ 135 OHP and 5x5 @ 225 on front squats..

Also, just downloaded JTS Method 2.0 on my phone, going to look at it and maybe start using that method, since this week is a deload week I'll have time to plan..

If you're trying something new, actually starting it on a deload week might be smart just b/c if you go full load with a new technique, it's usually not pretty.

gz on the deadlift work (from other topic): I too struggle with hook grip. Always have. I've known some people who are big on hook grip and they are the manliest of men. If you talk to Burns he may have some good info on grippers to augment grip over time. If I'm not mistaken he had some crazy grip strength back in the day.

e: also gz on OHP. I have trouble with OHP due to an injury history with a couple of ribs but I wish more people did OHP. Underrated as fk.

Yeah that OHP felt good, the last set was probably more on the lines of a push press, but still felt gz.

And yeah, I'm starting the JTS method, it just seems smarter... More focus on hypertrophy for the initial phase, and much more focus on PRS in terms of reps rather than just banging out numbers.

Excited about this one.

JTS day 1 was pretty good..

Bench
5x10 @ 110 "60%"

Spoto press 5x6 @ 95 "50%"

BBR @ 95 5x10

Slam ball throws 5x10 @ 25 lbs, did both side variants and ground variant of the throw

Felt pretty good for day one, cant wait to keep going with Juggernaut Method..

Juggernaut is by Chad Wesley smith right?

I've bought n read his ebook, principles of strength training it's very good, but didn't look at his actual program.

Reasons being.. he is a super heavy weight class lifter, competes with wraps etc and is also extremely natty.

His knowledge is great tho. He coached Marisa Inda to win worlds this year
