Null'd the poll because I have different beliefs.

I don't have a problem with assigning rules of engagement for US Armed Forces. First of all we're not in an official state of war with any nation therefore there shouldn't be unrestricted killing of hostile personnel or civilians. This applies for grunts on the ground, air support, and sea support. That being said there are going to be mistakes at times. Its war, everything is not clear cut and there is a lot of gray area. I think you should review the action when rules of engagement are broken and determine if there was negligence, disobedience, as well as the scope of the violation and you don't need to throw the guys under the bus in every situation.

I also believe Washington should set a clear objective then untie the hands of the commanding officers and allow them to develop and execute a military strategy to best achieve the objective.

Rules of engagement?

I'm sure they will make a movie about this and whitewash the shit out of it, like they did for that American Sniper fellow, try to portray him as a hero.

Or pretend that torture helped us find Bin Laden like that other movie Zero Dark Thirty.

Or maybe Hollywood could profit from 9/11 some more. At least 3 movies have capitalized on that event.

Yeah, the opening scene where Chris Kyle shot a kid and his mother was definitely hiding the horrors of war.

They try to frame his story heroically and his death as a tragedy.

How should it be framed? He was an American killing the enemy in Iraq, and he died trying to help a fellow American with PTSD.

Probably due to the fact that he was a hero, & his death was a tragedy.

Its sad two impeded journalists lost their lives while in the company of armed militants but do you think for a second that the Obama administration wouldn't have thrown the Apache crews under the bus if they killed "innocent civilians." Hell they're trying to force a decorated Green Beret out of the service for slapping the taste out of the mouth of a Afghan Pedophile.
