It's not like anyone cares, but here I go
The problem (for me) isn't so much that 200+ ee items don't drop, it's that ~150 ee higher tier items don't even drop. And if you get to 150 - 200 ee it's "almost" as bad as 200+ ee items, they don't drop at all
I'd say these 200+ ee drops were insanely lucky to have spawned a dagger + focused.. they could've easily been a club + a robe ( even if padded )
And lets face it, if someone "new" or someone who's coming back is gonna spend xx - xxx ks of fg, there's a high chance they are gonna do more than just 5 climbs per season
You'll need at least 2 different sets of ee weapons alone, no matter if you choose to go swords + daggers or axes + daggers or whatever and that's just until monk, if you get to wl you'll need 3 sets at least
Even if you decide to skip 40/50 that's still 5 items per set that can get 150+ ee ( 3 of which can get 200 in theory )
So everyone who's gonna play semi-seriously would theoretically "need" at least... 10 - 15 items with 150+ ee ( some of which 200ee or above )
When you compare that to what has dropped since I started playing at least ( about 3+ years ) it's just sad
So what, 5? 10? 200+ ee items and I have no idea, but I really doubt there's more than 50 - 100 lvl 30+ 150+ ee weapons, so about 100 150+ ee items in total
Assuming 10 - 15 items per person to complete sets, that's barely gearing up 6 - 10 people in 3+ years, not taking into account any preferences and that half of the drops were clubs/wilds/staves that no one uses
If we add all the factors like some of the drops being the wrong base + some people need heals as well + the actual number isn't even 100 + the tier ratio isn't equal and you're left with less higher tier items, we're probably left with 3 - 5 people geared... in 3+ years... and we're not talking about some insane top tier items, just "decent"
You are absolutely right. But the problem is there is an insanely bad old boys club here. Those that already HAD the good gear since before the last changes which screwed up the ability for drops fight and FOUGHT tooth and claw against any possible change with could allow higher drop rate. They don't want their gear which they paid a higher premium for to be Devalued. Which I understand from the selfish individual player view..
But the highest gear prices EVER were when people were actually able to FIND a ton of gear. Or at least had good idea that someone in the game somewhere was finding good gear. This resulted in hundreds of people playing weekly and buying said gear and slashing etc.etc. ... Until the drop rates were nerfed and people realised that it was a guaranteed loss eof everything you sink into LS. = Stop playing.
Very very few people will ever start a game if they feel like they can't get a return on their money. And don't give me bullshit aBout people able to sell their gear once they are done. That is a stupid, stupid argument.
