While the teacher has legal protection for flag stomping they do not have a blank check to bring as much parent outrage on their school as they want. Being with a teacher i can tell you a shitstorm hits the school if a bus is 5 minutes late on its route, this must have been a serious issue for the front office to confront. Imagine trying to talk down a combative parent when the simple answer is "he/she could have just told the students it wasn't illegal without a presentation."

For a similar example look at a teacher constantly saying "fuck" in class, there's nothing illegal about that either, but it will get you the boot regardless.

I just noticed this recently when the kid was trying to tell me that there was a group of people who were protesting Moana because it presents Maui as being fat and is a Polynesian stereotype. I decided to google it, and literally every single hit on the front page was some bullshit conservative rag telling their readers to get offended coz someone got offended. It's really weird stuff.
