For sure.

I mean, essentially, if you have a policy that causes a child to go hungry in order to save a buck, fuck you. That seems reasonable to me, at least.

I think a more pragmatic solution is to quietly slip the child a business card sized note to their parents, but then again that's bound to have next to no effect.

So I wonder what would be a more effective solution, possibly don't let the child register for the next grade until its paid.

send the deadbeat parents on a one-way flight to Antarctica and let the children be adopted by one of thousands of families willing to take care of, provide a lovely home for, and feed children.

More money should be put towards feeding children and teaching them proper nutrition.

Bleeding hearts of the world unite! Let's see...if you make below the poverty level of $28k taxable in most states the meal is completely free. If you make below $56k in the state I am from the meal is $0.20 per meal. If you make >$56k the meal is about $3. So if a student has racked up a $25 debt with the school that is either 125 meals that have not been paid for or the parents make enough to pay. Not buying this sob story, sorry.

Weird how people think children going hungry because of their parent's decisions is heartless, how could anyone reach that silly conclusion?

If school is compulsory, lunch should be free.
