government ran systems are often not as efficient as free market private industries

Ugh.

why do you think they need to be government ran institutions for the things you said?

So those attending can have a say of who runs their school system through democratic means, and so that one baseline education is available to all citizens of the United States, because the Federal Government has a duty to promote the general welfare of the union and even poor urban people and people from rural counties should have a chance to develop their talents, because the ability to better yourself is basically what the definition of freedom is.

Private systems are there to entrench nepotistic systems like those espoused by your patriarch Mr. Trump.

I would pick having quality public schools instead of having to choose between several bad schools. Magnet schools exist for choice already.

The answer is a reformed education system

I'd rather send my kid to the best school available. There are some very good charter schools, but they are few and far in between. A great chunk of charter schools fail within the first few years and provide shit tier education. The statistics are skewed in favor of charter schools because of this. I absolutely despise the current lack of oversight for charter schools.

One of the best things we could do for our education system is mandate equal funding on a per pupil basis, then make everybody attend public schools, rich or poor. This basically makes it so the rich have skin in the game and stop trying to cut public schooling because they can just send their kids to private school while fucking over everybody who can't afford that luxury.
