For the first time, I'm interested in GW as well.
Avid WoW player, but due to responsibilities and shit, i don't have the time to dedicate to raid times.
Things I am looking for in a MMORPG:
Eye candy but won't overheat my laptop
Solo play with ability to see most all the content
Emphasis on items and upgrading them
Enough active players to make social interaction possible
No or low monthly fees
all are true, except for the bolded.
gw2 is very graphically demanding, even on low settings. heavily reliant on CPU.
and for the most part, the only thing that makes one item better than another is it's aesthetics. there are more valuable upgrades (runes, sigils, infusions) but these are available to anyone. a legendary item will have the same stats as an ascended item, even though it takes a LOT more time to acquire.
i'd recommend the fuck out of gw2 to anybody looking to get into an MMO. for a free to play game, it's worth its money.
