I've tried thief, ele, warrior, and ranger for solo.

Thief is the best for fun solo play by far. Stealth, blind, and weakness allow you to take on champs. Although some champs would probably need a bearbow ranger to solo.

/e Thief also does highest single target dps of any class right now afaik.
