There is a slim model out this year.

There will be an upgraded iterative model next year. You probably won't see a new generation of Xbox after this one according to their proposed plan. You'll have more powerful and less powerful boxes.

True but not really worth an upgrade if you have a functional original model.

Worth it for the 4K player at 300$ imo.

That being said I won't be getting it because I don't have a 4K tv.

Yeah if you have a 4K TV And want to spend $40 on new ultra blurays. Really not worth it imo.

Scorpio will probably be $500. If it's more than that, they will have serious problems reaching console consumers regardless of proposed specs.

I believe Netflix can stream up to 4k so I don't believe the price of UHDs will be too much of a barrier.

High majority of what's on Netflix isn't 4K ready let alone necessary. No one needs to watch cable Sitcoms and Crime Dramas in 4K. If you think you need it, more power to you aka get some help you have a tech fetish that is quickly spiraling out of control.

If HBO announced 4K streaming for HBOGO and HBONOW it might make more of a splash since they actually get new movies that aren't Straight to DVD garbage.

No one needs a $600,000 Ferrari when a $20,000 Hyundai will get them from point a to b either.

But... if you don't care about the money aspect, why not?
