Florence and the Amalfi Coast were my two favourite spots in Italy. I think Venice and Rome are must visits too. We went to many other places but those were the highlights.

Vouch i did the amalfi coast, naples (skip), rome, sienna, florence and lots of back country tuscany

Amalfi is the best, san giminano (sp?) was second for me. Florence was very cool too.

Rome was not my favourite its very crowded we basically covered it in about 8 hours with a car and felt pretty good about what we saw. For me im more interested on the little forts and the old kingdoms they maintained.

Loved italy, would also recommend granada spain

If you're there 8 weeks where all do you intend to go besides the handful of places you listed? If you're going to the Czech Republic it would be a shame to train right through Germany and not see Berlin or Munich. I see you're going to Prague which is awesome, Prague was a really unique city. And the Czech Republic is (was when I was there) cheap as fuuuuuck, like ~$1 beers at bars. Amsterdam also a cool place to go.

If you're looking for more stops, I'd personally recommend these places. Some of my favorite spots in Europe: Munich, Berlin, Salzburg (Austria), Barcelona (Spain), Canz (France - Normandy Beaches), Florence (Italy), Vatican City... well theres a handful off the top of my head. If you have any interest in specific ones I can tell you what we did and saw there.

Cant believe you have no interest in seeing Germany. Personally my favorite country in Europe because of the food, beer and historical sites. Going to a concentration camp was one of the most interesting and sobering experiences of my life. Drinking beer out of big steins in massive beer halls was also another highlight.

if I were to do an Europe trip I'd definitively avoid travelling straight through countries... too much shit to see along the way. unless we're talking about the UK and the weather is all cloudy and depressing and shit
