the canadian kid had a really fast final leg too; pretty sure he closed the gap on japan, usa, and jamaica. but bolt definitely separated from japan and the us. he has sickening speed.

And as always, they rigged Rhythmic Gymnastics to favour the russians....

We deserved the gold, but oh well... at least this silver is our best result in 20 years, which felt like a long time for a country where this sport is the most practiced among girls.

In total 17 medals for us in these Olympics, 7 of them gold... a mediocre run since we should be aiming for 20-25, but it's kind of compensated by it being our second highest gold count of all time. Can't really complain; with all the budget cuts that have happened since the start of the financial crisis in 2008, it's hard for us to step up our medal count. WIshe we had been awarded 2020... that could have given us the leap we were looking for, just like when we had Barcelona 92 and we went from winning 2-5 medals on average to our current 17-20 average.

Paralympics on right now, there have been some strange incidents, my mate told me yesterday that someone jumped in the wrong direction in the long jump and landed on the hard surface, also this table tennis player plays with his mouth and kicks it up to himself when serving
