Hello everyone!

Recently I claimed warranty on my Samsung Galaxy S6 and got a new one in the mail. I've encountered 2 issues transferring content.

The first one is photos and videos. I put all that on my laptop and then when I put it on my new phone the photos were fine but majority of my videos (not all) were a way smaller resolution. Like 400 x 500 pixels. How can I make it so they are the normal resolution? They were all shot on the same phone so not sure how some copied over with a small resolution and low quality.

My next issue is regarding the cloud. I uploaded all my contacts on the cloud, then using my new phone logged onto the cloud (also same number) and nothing was there.

I'm thinking option #2 may be a contact Verizon question but maybe someone experienced the same issue.

Thanks.

in regards to contacts theres apps you can use.
back up to sim
export to pc

all work.

As for video's i'm not 100% sure, you can up scale them now but they would lose quality.

i did own a old S4 phone and bought this S7 edge recently and were afraid how to move over all my content from my phone, but it did follow some sort of adapter to move over all of your content from your old phone. Even the settings and all that shizzle, it was really really smooth! Didnt even know how it could be that smooth actually :D But that's the thing i like with Android vs iPhone. Android always been easy to use and take care of!
But, im guessing your old phone did broke or something so you did get a new one on the warranty so you don't have access to your old phone?

The old phone had to be shipped back to Verizon within 5 days or they charge full retail price. So got the phone out as soon as I could. Don't have access to my old phone :(

I'm aggravated cause I thought the point of theach cloud was to save your content there incase something bad happens to your current device.

What did you use to transfer the content?

/edit

Samsung Smart Switch works really well. I have never had issues with it.

Try that.

I backed my stuff up my phone factory reset itself and then I restored my phone using it. Couldn't even tell.

Photos and videos I put the folder with all pictures on my computer. Didn't use a program.

Like I said the photos are fine. Most videos are messed up. Don't know why some are fine haha

I'll check into it. I think I may be out of luck however since I reset the old phone to factory.

Damn yeah if you hadn't you would have been able to pull all info off with no issues and transfer to new device and after logging in it would appear to be exactly like only device setting and all

Make sure you backup everything in Google ( you can backup photos and videos and also Contacts ).
Then simply sign in with your gmail from old device where the backup is, enjoy your new device.

Also, when you just copy and paste to new device its not the proper way to backup and restore files in Android.
In your case you got Samsung Kies that you need to use.
